Description

Note
For main description on GFS data see: GFS_Model_Output

The following graphics were made near-real-time with GFS model data. There are four datasets per day at 00,06,12,18 hours. We process 54h of data at 3h intervals. Therefore, for a given time in the furture there can be up to 54/3=18 different forecasts. However, for a time several hours ahead of the current date, this whole set of 18 forecasts are not present -- simply because some of the model running times are still in the future! (or in the recent past, which we have not yet processed.)

AOT means "Ahead of time". For example 24h AOT, for time t means the forecast made for time t, by a model run started with initial conditions for time t-24h.

The following sections show different available forecasts for several days. The values are snapshots. All times are in UTC format.

See this section for the latest time-series (every 3h snapshots).
