Introduction
This page provides the results of the real-time weather model I run for Sri Lanka. The model is based on the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model [1] and use the global predictions provided by GFS (Global Forecasting System) model of NOAA for lateral boundary conditions. Initial conditions are also provided by GFS (time 0) data and are NOT enhanced by local observations.
Of course, it goes without saying that this work of mine is an experimental one (a hobby?). I am not validating this data and do not make any guarantee of the accuracy.
Domain
The simulation is done for South-Western Sri Lanka with 3 nesting levels to arrive at a final spatial resolution of 3kmx3km. (Domain resolutions are 27km, 9km and 3km.)
