There seems to be some very good youth hostels in Luxembourg[http://www.youthhostels.lu/]. Most of them cater for families and somewhat cheaper than hotels are. Tom Galvin's Travalouge Page [http://www.tompgalvin.com/index.html] has some consise and very useful information about the country from sigt-seeing perspective [http://www.tompgalvin.com/places/lu/0_lu.htm].
